Educational Goals

Educational Goals

The educational objectives of our center are as follows:

1. To cultivate in our students a blend of professionalism and academic prowess through general education courses, while also fostering their abilities for self-development and adaptation to life.
2. To nurture in students a genuine and virtuous character, imbued with a broad-minded disposition, and to instill in them a lifelong attitude towards holistic education and learning.
3. To develop in students a broad-minded humanistic literacy that encompasses both local concerns and an international perspective.
4. To cultivate a worldview centered on sustainable development and the unique characteristics of the ocean.
5. To uphold the spirit of our school motto, "Sincerity, Simplicity, Perseverance," while producing graduates who embody moral integrity, intellectual acumen, physical fitness, aesthetic appreciation, and a sense of community.

Guided by our school's mission to cultivate students with maritime awareness, humanistic literacy, and practical skills, our Center for General Education offers a range of courses. Recognizing the Ministry of Education's emphasis on general education as the core of university education, we have categorized our liberal arts curriculum into eight subdomains. The aim is to diversify our course offerings, enriching students' humanistic literacy, strengthening their self-learning abilities, broadening their maritime perspective, deepening their oceanic consciousness, igniting their passion for the sea, and shaping them into individuals who are inclusive, innovative, and committed to sustainable development.
